On average, the vehicles on the list below have the longest ranges of up to 320 miles (515 km).
Specifically, the car with the longest range on the list, the Model S with a range of 405 miles (652 km), ranked fifth and is the Tesla with the lowest position in the top 10.
Meanwhile, in fact, the longest-range electric car model on sale today, Lucid Air, which can go up to 516 miles (830 km) on a full charge (according to EPA standards), does not appear on the list at all.
As expected, the two most sold vehicles in 2022 are from Tesla.
Of note is the fact that the Model Y, a crossover, with a maximum range of 330 miles (531 km), outsells the Model 3 sedan, with a maximum range of 358 miles (576 km).
Another highlight can be found on the list, which is that the Lucid and other long-range electric cars such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (303 miles/488 km) and Rivian R1T (314 miles/505 km) were all beaten.
Chevrolet Bolt EV
Although it is the vehicle with the shortest range in the top 10, with only 247 miles (397 km), the starting price of only 33,995 USD (converted price of 797 million VND) makes it one of the cheapest electric car models.
While price and volume also seem to have a certain impact on how well an electric vehicle sells, the list of the 10 best-selling car models in 2022 shows that American consumers favor vehicles with high range.
This may just be a psychological factor, because in fact a study by the University of Delaware showed that most drivers would be satisfied with a compact electric car, with a range of only 143 miles.
